Envirothon 2024
Where is the Envirothon?
Each year, Area 2 Envirothon rotates around 17 Northeast Ohio Counties. Wayne SWCD will host the Envirothon on April 24th, 2024 at the Kidron Community Center and Park. The top four teams advance to the State competition along with the other teams from the remaining Ohio Areas, making 20 teams total at the State competition. Only one team from State advances to the National Envirothon, in Geneva, NY in 2024!

State Envirothon
Find Your Area Contest
High School students across the state compete on the local level at one of the five Area Envirothons. The top four teams from each Area Envirothon then go on to compete at the state competition held each year in June for the title of State Envirothon Champion. The winning team will then compete at the North American competition, the NCF Envirothon, held annually during July in the US or Canada.

North American Envirothon
National Envirothon: July 28-August 3, 2024 at Holbart & William Smith Collleges, Geneva, New York
The NCF-Envirothon is an annual competition for high school-aged students conducted over five consecutive days every summer during July or August. To expose students to diverse environmental issues, ecosystems, and topography the North American Envirothon is hosted in a different location each year. Teams from participating states and Canadian provinces, who have won their state or provincial event, compete for recognition and scholarships by demonstrating their knowledge of environmental science and natural resource management.
