Wayne SWCD ran a Stream Name Sign Design Contest in 2025 – some of you may have entered a design while at out Fair barn.  After much deliberation, the winning entry for the Silver Creek was submitted by 9th grader, Kendall Stoller.  Her design inspiration was – ‘My family and I love to walk on the trails together.  I love seeing all the different types of wildlife.’  The winning entry for Tommy Run in Milton Township was submitted by Haylee Keeler.  Her design inspiration was – ‘Water is precious; let’s keep our streams clean!’

Two signs with their design will be installed along the road at the creek crossings.  Keep an eye out for the signs along the Silver Creek which flows from north to south in Chippewa Township east of Doylestown and Tommy Run which flows from north to south in Milton Township just west of Rittman.  Both streams empty into the Chippewa Creek.  Also, each winner received a $50 Amazon gift certificate courtesy of the Chippewa and Milton townships.  Thank you to all who submitted entries and congratulations to our winners!!
