Richland SWCD will be the Hosts for the 2025 Area 2 Envirothon!

- Area 2 Registration Deadline is March 5th 2025... Area 2 Envirothon is APRIL 9th 2025.
Reminder, ties were determined by the Aquatics Station as stated in the AREA 2 Envirothon Rules (#16).

Congratulations to the TOP Four Placing Teams From the Area 2 Envirothon!
These Teams have the opportunity to advance to the State Competition in June at Hocking College:
- Boardman Channel Cats from Mahoning County, Boardman HS, Advisor Heather Moran
- Southeast Maroon from Portage County, Southeast HS, Advisor Carl Sondereker
- EnviroQueens from Portage County, Theodore Roosevelt HS, Advisors Chris Carman, Julia Ferrando, and Eva Frank
- Columbian Red from Columbiana County, Columbiana HS, Advisors Colleen Campbell and Austin Saverko
Alternate Team: 5th was Team Elm from Stark County, Jackson HS, Advisors Roy Dria and Gretchen Hull

2024 State Envirothon Information:
The 20 top teams from across the state will compete in the 2024 Ohio Envirothon competition, hosted at Hocking College in Athens County, June 3rd – 5th.

State Envirothon Results!
The competition was held Hocking College in Nelsonville, OH. On Tuesday June 4th, teams traveled to Lake Snowden Fish Hatchery for field testing. After returning to campus, the teams worked to prepare a five-minute presentation on a problem scenario based on the 2024 theme “Renewable Energy for a Sustainable Future.” On Wednesday, each team presented to a panel of judges.
Lynchburg-Clay High School Gold Team was the overall winner of the event, followed by Beavercreek High School in second place, and Port Clinton High School in third. The Lynchburg-Clay team will represent Ohio at the NCF-Envirothon in Geneva, New York at the end of July.

Each Test contains questions from all of the five content areas, in 25 multi-choice questions at what is called an eco-station format. Each Eco-station will have a primary focus at the designated content area. The 2024 CEI is Renewable Energy for a Sustainable Future. * Look for Study guides in each content area by Feb. 2024.
